In the same parcel was a little device (servosense) that monitors amps consumed by the radio equipemnt rather than the motor. Which should be very interesting. All these devices are very lightweight and tiny in size. Also on the way is a charger (VP2.0 Pro) that plugs into a PC and monitors and graphs charging and discharging cycles of your packs. | 05/08/2005 | TrexTuning has just received the DPR-50 Digital Power Recorder from www.bnbproducts.com. This is exciting news as TrexTuning will now be adding in flight power
graphs to motor reviews, so you can now see how the motors do in the static
tests as well as in-flight data. I also have the temperature probes to
go with this excellent little device, so will be able to also record in
flight motor temperatures. I will be reviewing this new device for those
interested in purchasing one themselves. The first motor to benefit from
this new data is the 450TH which is currently being tested. |

Also coming shortly are two packs from flightpower.co.uk. The flightpower packs are their new 20C cells. I am also going to be looking at the CSM-ltd 560 SL micro gyro with a view to coming up with a good set of settings for use in the TREX. |

| 26/05/2005 | Finally the UK weather has broken and I can get on to do some testing.
The Heliup frame is built and ready for first hops today. The MicroHeli
frame is built and just needs the servos installing before first flights. Also just about finished is an article on how to convert to a high voltage setup. Just some motor tests to complete to finish the article. New arrivals are the MicroHeli tail case and the extended tail rotor shaft with pinion. Plus I also have the new SE version of the tail pitch slider and bell crank to review. The 450DH motor has arrived as well and will undergo testing as soon as I finish the high voltage article. Today the Align CNC flybar holder arrived and I have also got some of the Align solid wood 315mm blades to try out. Also completed and being written up is the Thunder Power 3S 2000mah lab report. The new Poly Quest packs are being tested as I type this. I predict a very busy next week or so testing all of the above! |

| 14/04/2005 | PolyQuest 3S 1800 review is being withdrawn, PolyQuest have updated their
lipo's line to include new 20C packs and so TrexTuning will test these
instead. Waiting to hear if the other packs, 4S 1800 and 3S 2200 are also
being removed from the current labs testing in favour of new 20C packs. Align have announced some new 325mm fiber rotor blades. They are slightly lighter than the previous blades and appear to be fully carbon fiber construction this time. |

Also arrived today were the rchover.com aluiminium fins, undercart, battery tray and 'glitch no more' device. Now the X400 site is running I can concentrate on getting some more tests done rather than web development. last week, the cause is two fold. One is I'm waiting for some parts to
get some new upgrades installed and tested on my T-Rex. The other more
significant reason is that I've been building my new X400 site which will
be announced very shortly. I have also now built the X400 and it will be
flying at some point today. Following this I'll put up my comparison review
so everyone can see the main differences between the T-Rex and X400. Items coming very shortly are the Emeter review, Titan 30A ESC review and the Medusa 3.5A BEC review. I'll also be doing an article on converting to 4S. |

| 22/02/2005 | Following an evening of frustration trying to fit the NEU motor and finding there isn't a single screw in the T-Rex kit suitable for this I decided to fit the AON 2815-3500kv instead. This motor is now under test, results shortly. The NEU will be next once I have found some suitable mounting screws Preliminary AON 2815-3500kv test results have been posted. |

Testing should commence later this week and following this the system will
be made available to MicroHeli customers. I will also be completing the MicroHeli tail rotor review as well as taking a look at the MicroHeli washout arms and new titanium shaft. Other updates today have been to the MS Composit blade review and the Align Carbon Blade review, more to come on these blade tests shortly (if the British weather will let me). Completed the Mega 16/15/3 review. |

Align's all metal swashplate is on it's way for review. Align have released a new head for the T-Rex with double dampeners. Apparently this is to fix tracking problems being experienced by some people (see my Align CF blade review for details of this problem). Align are also releasing carbon fins, a new collective pitch arm with bearings, push/pull tail pushrod system and CNC SF mixing arms. |

| 15/02/2005 | Worked into the early hours to get the T-Rex rebuilt after my parts finally
arrived. It's the longest time I have ever had a machine out of the air
(3 weeks). Pictures of the new build will be posted later today as I used
the new 3K side frame set and 3K paddles. Successfully hovered the rebuilt T-Rex, testing resumes :) Two new AON motors arrived for testing today, see my motors page for details. Preliminary reports on these two motors are very good. The Medusa Potencia 3.5A BEC also arrived ready for my High Voltage article where I will be utilising the Thuder Power 4S 1320 pack currently being tested in the labs. I'm also now starting the www.smart-rc.com CCPM conversion ready for testing in March. |

This is the Hong-Kong delivery courtesy of Flying-Hobby.Com which went missing on 24th January. After several exchanges with Mr. Fung he had a real dig around in the postal services and hey presto out it pops, not sure what he did but I'm grateful all the same, particularly as parcel force just said "it never made it to the UK". Hmmm, so it got on a plane on the 24th and stayed airborne for 3 weeks, that's some special airplane they got there! |

I have finally resolved my lack of spares situation with the availability of kits and spares now in the UK. All testing will resume once I have rebuilt the T-Rex. |
| 06/02/2005 | Following my rather large inverted crash I have had the displeasure of dealing with the international postal services. Somewhere in England are two boxes of various parts for the TRex, one from the USA and one from Hong Kong. Either of which could repair my T-Rex and put it back in the air. Despite postal tracking they have seemingly disappeared. My apologies for the lack of updates to the site, I have a stack of reviews to do which just keeps growing. Fortunately the UK distributor will be up and running in a matter of days and I can forfeit my reliance on our wonderful international postal services. I would also like to thank HIFI R/C who have reacted superbly to my problem and 48 hour Fedexed the whole order again, it should arrive tomorrow, excellent service indeed. Normal service will resume shortly, starting with the completion of the Mega 16/15/3 review and a full review of the Align Carbon Blades. | 04/02/2005 | Whilst reviewing the MicroHeli precision tail rotor T-Rex Tuning discovered
a manufacturing problem. A limited number of MicroHeli Precision Tail Rotors
are fitted with aluminium washers holding on the blade grips rather than
the specified steel washers. In some cases this can lead to the washer
being pulled through the bearing and the blade grip parting company with
the main tail rotor hub. After consultation with MicroHeli it was confirmed
that a number of tail rotors manufactured either before February 1st or
January the 15th (date to be confirmed) are fitted with incorrect washers.
New washers can be obtained by emailing support@microheli.com or click on the helpdesk icon on their main site. |
