Before moving on to the radio setup, mechanically make sure that the washout mixers are horizontal at the collective servo centre position. OK, so for radio setup, first dial in 30% expo for channels 1&2 (which
should be your cyclic servos). Next we have the tail to setup. As a rough guide you can use the picture below which show what my tail control horn looks like at servo center, please note that this is for a very rough mechanical setup of the tail : |

The tail will very likely need trimming out but we won't know the detail until we hover for the first time. The gyro (if it is an Align gyro) will probably need about 40% gain as a reasonable starting point.Again this can be dependant on your type of radio and if you are choosing the option of remote gain from your transmitter. If not then leave the gyro at factory default (about 50% gain). Next throttle and pitch curves. Personally I run the following for an Align 400s motor. |
