This is a short review of Align's recently updated all plastic swashplate. It arrived as you can see below in a pre-packaged plastic and cardboard packet. The contents are the plastic swashplate itself, pre-assembled and glued. Included with the main swashplate are outer and inner balls for the swashplate and the appropriate mounting screws. On early kits these screws were too long and binding could occur with the inner balls hitting the screw ends that had come through from the outer balls being screwed into place.
This is no longer an issue and the screws are of the correct length.
Aside from this I couldn't see any other changes. I did try to pry apart
the swashplate but it was glued quite solidly, so I would assume that the
issue of the swashplate coming apart or needing re-glueing has now also
been resolved.
The inner metal swash ball still felt notchy and not as free turning as
I would like, I think further work is required on this part of the swashplate,
an easy remedy is to put a hot soldering iron on the ball for a few seconds
and then manipulate it with a srewdriver. This frees it up nicely, I also
add a touch of teflon grease just to make sure.
